This location is cozy but I am not a fan of Starbucks coffee

Starbucks Coffee on UrbanspoonSorry but I never have and never will be a fan of the coffee. It just tastes wrong (has chicore or something in it). I have never been to any Starbucks location. But this location opened up and we had a free card, so we came to this very small, cozy little place. My wife liked the tea and I drank the coffee but I was not impressed. This time I came myself to read a little, check out the ambiance and try some different coffee. This place is small but has some nice sofa chairs, wifi (now) , take out window and a display of many of the coffees, teas, cakes and (this one now) has 8 breakfast items. Its quiet most of the time except when you hear the "shwooshing" of the specialty coffee machines and the clanking of pots/pans. I tried the Pike's Place (I've been there) coffee and was okay but I prefer MacDonalds coffee (sorry). I know they have “their bottom line” so they charge extra for more (regular) coffee. You can get a Starbucks card and their other perks as well extra refills. There are different types of teas, , fruit drinks and dessert type items so there is more then just coffee. I hope this location continues (seems to be doing okay) as I would like to come back and sip some coffee in the cozy chairs , use the wifi, and try a breakfast item. I can do that at home too but the ambiance is nice. So while I don't like the coffee much, I like the "inside" comfy feeling so I will have to give it a "thumbs up." There is something to be said for this location/place even though the main item is not my "cup of tea".

Gourmet, gluttony, culinary obsesssion or does he just likes McDonalds?

In Parade magazine, P. 11 " A serious Mac Attack". This Wisconsin guy said he has eaten more then 23,000 Big Macs. Dom Gorske of Fond Du Lac said he started this obsession on 5/17/1972 (not sure why) and has eaten them every day. He needs two fill him up and has kept all the receipts to prove it. He has come back though not with the burgers but by not eating fries. I like McDonalds as they are tasty but they are not my favorite burger. Well as long as he's happy.

Hi roller dining -$420 PER PERSON

Las Vegas gets its first 3 star Michelin Guide coverage in Joel Robuchon's MGM Grande restaurant called "perfection on a plate" to draw some of the worlds discerning (I have to learn to use this word more) diners. Dinner including wine costs a paltry $420 PER PERSON. Only one of 58 worldwide, this restaurant just serves 50 diners a night. He comes from France but he says the American chefs are the best. He also says " everyone is sick of McDonalds". (Newsweek, 11/26/2007, p. 16)

Coffee- no to Starbucks, MacDonald & Seattle Best better

I like coffee but I am not a Starbucks fan. Starbucks stuff tastes like chicory or something with a lousy taste.
Do peope really like this stuff? I prefer the MacDonalds regular coffee, latte or ice coffee. I used to hate McDonalds (even dumpted their stock ) because my kids always wanted to go there because of the toys that the kids could get with the burgers. But I like their coffees.
Starbucks just opened up a block away here in Olathe, KS. We went there because of a free coupon (my wife does not drink coffee but tea) and the non Starbucks coffee was OK but not better then the MacDonalds.
