My son told me about Top Chef. I mean it is the 3rd year so how come I never heard about it and Bravo stuff. Too much food channel, watching 24, The Unit and more.
Well I have watched some of year 1 and 2 and all episodes of 3 up to this point.
All chefs are accomplished with big resumes and add sou or head to all their names.
Interesting contests and challenges.
Unlike Iron Chef, there are different challenges except for the ingredients.
But what I have found as it gets down to the finals of this year
(1) There are some really gosh awful dishes made.
(2) the judges 75% of time , their main complaint is the food is either "overdone" or "underdone." I have still yet to figure out how a scallop is over or under.
Fish is really difficult for me to judge but I am getting the hang of it. Beef I understand and don't have problems.
(3) I really like the two guys as they have a lot of substance in their thoughts and usually what they say and their insights.
